Elcombe is a Victorian House built around 1850 and stands in a superb location with stunning sea views from the terraced south facing gardens. Elcombe was the outright winner in 1997 and runner up in two of the subsequent years in the Isle of Wight in Bloom Competition. Elcombe is situated in the beautiful village of Bonchurch which itself was voted prettiest small village in the whole of the South of England last year.
Bonchurch became well known in Victorian times and was the haunt of many famous literary figures including Charles Dickens H.de vere Stactpoole and Algernon Swinburn. In fact Dickens wrote of Bonchurch "I have found the most beautiful place on earth".
Elcombe has two double ensuite rooms and one twin room with it's own bathroom, all rooms have T.V. and tea and coffee making facilities. A small fridge is also available for the guest use.
Guest also have their own lounge with adjoining conservatory which has superb views over the garden to the sea. Outside there is a large patio area ideal for sipping that after breakfast coffee and planning your day ahead.
All bedrooms are non smoking but smoking is permitted in the Garden.
As we try to create a tranquil and serene setting for you we regret we do not take children.
We are open all year round and our tariff is £27.50 to £30 per person per night according to season for Bed and Superb English Breakfast.
